Avast, Me Hearties! ‘Tis Talk Like a Pirate Day!
Ye may not be knowin’ this ‘bout yer ol’ trusty monk, but fer one day each year, I enjoys talkin’ like eh “gentlemen o’ fortune” (that there’s a pirate, to ye landlubbers).
Don’t be havin’ the Davies, now — I not be the only one; September 19th ‘tis Talk Like A Pirate Day ‘round the world.
Now, if ye be a lily-livered squiffy, ye won’t be wantin’ te read no further. But if ye have a stout heart, and ye be yearnin’ fer a life in the sweet trade, then ye’ll be wantin’ te see the links I be spreadin’ through this here post… they’ll be showin’ ye how to transform ye’self from a bilge-rat eatin’ sprong to a swashbucklin’ buccaneer!
“Talk Like A Pirate .com” be somewhat the original, far as I can tell… and there was a blog o’ the same sort (but it crashed under the weight of its own barnacles). If it’s pirate lingo ye be needin’ (so’s ye don’t be confused with a son of a biscuit eater), then try this here site on fer size.
If it be more pictures ye be needin’, Flickr’s got a barrel full o’ them…
And if ye be in the UK, then yarr.org.uk be the site fer ye, or if ye be livin’ down under, in the great land o’ Oz, then yaaarrr.com’s what ye be needin’… (altho’ ye still got three more days to get yer act together)
Edit: I be findin’ this the day after TLAPD, but ’tis worth the mention, ye lubbers… Cap’n Dougal Campbell wrote himself a WordPress plugin that changes English te Pirate-ese. Yarrr!
And last, but ne’er least, this here be the funniest video I e’er done seen yet. Arrr!

What be crossin’ me be that no one’s said a thing about me podcast. Perhaps it ’tis too much for ye landlubbers (keelhaul ye all, I say)…
